My wife and I just saw Pippa Lee on Showcase and loved it. I really appreciated the structure--the backstory, her story, was wonderfully interwoven. Congratulations. And thank you.

As I told you this evening, at the SVA theater, the film The private Lives of Pippa Lee was exquisite. We are all so fragmented by life, love, lack of stuff we think we need; concerns about our children, our mates, our friends, etc. Your wonderful film rang so many bells in my psyche and I truly felt the detachment/sadness/hope which occurs when we change gears and roles. May you continue your amazing journey and much success in all your endeavors. You have the most honest eyes.

After seeing both Angela and The Ballad of Jack and Rose. Somehow there seems to be a connecting thread of human spirit, reflecting a vision for what is lost and regained in the complexity of life and the struggle of identity and freedom.
Fly bird, fly...is in all of us.
Rebecca, your determination and integrity, evokes an eye "awakening" journey throughout all of your work. This is a gift, which cannot be bought or sold.

thank you from an artist... who is an outsider, capturing from the inside.

Rebecca,

I felt strangely familiar with Pippa Lee. I'm going through a time when I need someone who'd make me feel "protected", like Pippa's husband. Does it happen if you really want it or do you have to give up hope for it to appear in your life?

Rebecca-
"I" have not seen the film, not yet at least. I have however recommended the book to several people as it has been quite a bit more accessible. As I was recommending it to a friend for her book club and describing the basic theme...it ocurred to me, the proverbial "lightbulb", epiphany, call it what you will...do we ALL not have a little bit of "Pippa Lee" in each of us? I think you captured the essence of who so many women are today...mysterious yes, but not always how those around us imagine. I love the story and think you did a positively brillliant job in writing it and am sure the film is equally as engaging and on point. I cannot WAIT to see what you have planned for your next project.

Hello Rebecca,

I am a Greek-Canadian, who has just landed a week ago today in Brighton, UK; where I'll be studying advanced motion picture production for a year. I very much respect your work, as a literary and filmmaker, not to mention your endurance and patience when it comes to the process. Will there be a UK, release, of Pippa Lee?
I did get a chuckle from the Greek distributor comment. I have family speckled all over the country, so I often hear of the baffling mystery that is known as “Greek business”.

Many blessings to you and kalo texthethi (safe travels)

Maria

Post Scriptum: Thanks for opening yourself up to the individuals, it's refreshing to see!

I really loved Pippa Lee and I think Robin Wright made a great performance in it.
I saw about one month ago with other 4 people who thought it was very good...
And about Greece... I don't know how they sold the movie to their audiences, but I must say the UK trailer is really really horrible... Bad work!!!
Anyway, I have to say again Pippa Lee is one of the film I've loved most this year...

Hi Rebecca,

I just want to say wow and thank you. I saw "Pippa Lee" last night at a theatre in Tel Aviv. Its characters and scenes have been stirring in me ever since.

Such a fine, elegant piece of work that rang so true and heartfelt -- I cannot wait to read the book.

Best of luck and thanks for the inspiration.
